Again at dinner, Abhi and Adit were discussing the lost bag. Vidya asks if he returned the bag or kept it in the police station. Adit says the Police Station. Dinner is done and Adit is with Antara. He sees her looking at him and he asks her why so. He is disturbed at what he's done and starts thinking aloud. He says he had tried to be a good man but that hadn't helped him at all. So the hell with everything, he was going to do something dishonest for a change. Wow…..Gr8 philosophy. Never take life on the backfoot. Isn't dishonest bad? Antara looks at him trying to understand what he was saying. Her round eyes ask why he was so upset. Probly he cant take her questioning stare and leaves the room. He goes to the balcony. He is restless becoz of the clash betw his conscience and temptation.
Angel leaves the room and goes to Vidya's but there too things were not quiet. Abhi can't sleep although Vidya is telling him to. He brings up the topic of the bag again. He sees Antara and asks her if she can't sleep as well. Vidya picks her up and puts her on the bed. Both Abhi and she try to sleep. But sleep was elusive. Antara sits up in bed. Abhi also sits up.
Next they are in the balcony where Adit is restlessly running his fingers through his hair. Abhi has the bag in his hand. Vidya tells Adit what is the use of keeping this money if none of them could sleep in peace? She tells him to return the bag. She says they will support each other and live life honestly. Adit is actually relieved to find support from his family members. Adit decides to return the bag. Abhi says he will go with him to identify the man. Since Adit hasn't seen the man properly he won't know whose bag it is. He is afraid afraid that if he goes to the police, they may accuse him of being a thief. (Really Abhi…..use yr brains!!!!)
Next morning Vidya and Antara remain at home but Adit and Abhi go out to return the bag. Vidya is praying to God and telling him about how good Adit is and that He should forgive him. She hopes He will not punish him for a mistake that he's trying to rectify. Vidya stands at the altar with folded hands and cries. Antara is looking at her.
Adit is waiting and waiting at the bench. Many people look at him suspiciously but he stays put. The owner arrives and sees his briefcase in Adit's hand. But Adit doesn't easily part with the briefcase. He wants proof. Adit is absolutely in the right for wanting to verify the owner's claim. After all there was no address in the briefcase. But he doesn't clarify this. The owner shd have been glad that the person has returned to the place. Why would Adit have come there if not to return the bag? Abhi says the man is the owner. Adit says arre why didn't you say so earlier and is handing over the briefcase. The owner is stupid and calls Adit a chor. That is enough for the crowd. But The bystanders must have seen Adit sitting there for a long time. Would a thief have done that? Yet the crowd starts beating him up. Abhi starts screaming "mere papa ko chod do, he's not a chor." Poor little thing! He pushes through the crowd. And poor Adit is getting hammered. The owner opens the bag and sees his money intact. (Actually now it would have been better if Adit had kept the money instead of returning it to such an ungrateful man. The owner tells the crowd to stop. He calls Abhi. Does he feel pangs of guilt to call Abhi forward? He is the worst kind of creep for showering so much violence on Adit. Was he trying to redeem himself in front of the crowd?
Abhi ...... poor guy! To see his father get beaten up for showing honesty. But in his little way, my little braveheart does his best to stop his father from getting hurt further. I sincerely hope he is able to make the owner see his mistake.
