I could not have said it better myself... Society in general in India are trying to change the way they preceive their neighbours... When I got married I never refered to my devar as bhai or my nand's as behen... A few created a little controversary but since I was raised in the U.S I never let it effect me... And in a few days even those talks died down... Tv serials need to help society make social changes...I love SimBhi and I hope that they live a happy life and the only troubles they encounter is with their family and friends....But they stay strong...😊

Why would you have had to?
As you know a sudden exposure to the culture in the US where egalitarianism is the norm, being on a first name basis, can be traumatic for a newcomer ... but anymore, I prefer to be on a first name basis (oh, other than some close family, where Didi, Maasi, Bhua, sound awfully endearing and sweet) ... no Aunty's please!!
I love SimBhi and I hope that they live a happy life and the only troubles they encounter is with their family and friends
Oh goodness child! Family type encounters and run-ins are at least as bad if not more so than those with strangers ... who are the worst oppressors on KB for example?! At least Bhalla, gross as he was, only said 'I love you' to Simi while her mum is much more censorious with her 'you are overweight' etc ... a woman of 30 has earned and deserves nothing but respect - which most responsible adults are entitled to ...

daboo i think family berating u is more hurtful primarily because you dont expect it from them and also because since they know u, they know where it hurts most.

Not true! At least you should hope so ... you want your super awsum child (who does not take after you even tho' she has 1/2 your genes) to turn out like you? 😃
Nah ... if anyone, it may be Anuj who turns into Momma S ... Simi's in much better company with her Abhi to be influenced so adversely ... Besides, how long do you think Manju is going to sulk? She hasn't a clue about the volcanic eruption that's in the offing - Neetu and her paramour (who cannot live without her), so, when that hits the streets, she's going to wake up awful pronto quick and stop behaving like a meathead ... that's got to happen next week, Vicky hasn't much time left ... but I wonder where he's going to run to with the 40 lakhs ... Bangkok went bye-bye and he's sure to be found out if he tarries in India ... any guesses? But poor Poppa S ... it'll be his turn to faint when he discovers that bit of excitement ... it's going to be left to Abhi to go fix the mess ... it doesn't always pay to be Mr. Goodie two-shoes ...

we count on our family's support because they are the only ones to love us unconditionally..and censure from them, especially when their support is needed comes as a shock to us..
Mater S does not seem to realize this..she feels that there is something wrong in her upbringing where her eldest is concerned..because this is a matter that will affect their STANDING IN THEEEE SOCIETY...
whereas the great bit of digestive byproduct tossed in her direction by her son is excused , in a way, because it is a Ghar ka maamla and also, she does not see his action as wrong..she feels that her husband is always riding hard on his son..even when he throws his son out, she feels that what he did was uncalled for, because he is the ghar ka beta, after all..proving that Love can not only be blind, but deaf and dumb as well...but what hurts is selective blindness, deafness and dumbness..always!!
