Monday though it's more with trepidation than anything else.
My sentiments exactly!! I have more than a premonition that things are going to get mangled beyond belief (I'm keeping all my appendages and digits crossed in the pervent hope that I'm wrong!) ... I'm prepared for Abhi to go 'pip-pip' to Simi if she does give him the ring back ... that's not just a serious breach of contract, but exceedingly unethical behavior as well ... there's no forgiving someone who raises your hopes only to dash them - repeatedly! I'm ready to see someone else show up on the scene to replace Simi in Abhi's heart & mind (his body, on the other hand, remains entirely my province 😃)
Social expectations need a grand overhaul ... while not at the cost of inflicting grevious harm & hurt on another, I'm a proponent of the premise that one's primary responsibility should be to oneself ... in Simi's case, if her concern is her 'family' then what exactly is Abhi's position? Is he not 'family' - a union that is going to be paramount - over any relationship with her parents or siblings? I would understand if there was no emotional attachment between a prospective pair, but goodness, when there is, why sacrifice your happiness so wantonly?! What? Should we then take the case of martyrdom to it's final unnatural conclusion and 'burn her at the stake'?!!
Part of my frustration comes from the portrayal of a woman as being so quixotic and unresilient!
Say Rani - for exercise, why don't you, like me, contort yourself into Garudaasun (and stay there - great expender of calories) in the hope of a more pleasant outcome at dinner on 'Saturday' (the fact that it takes 3 days to get from Fri to Sat must be consonant with 'Indian standard time' 😊)?
