After the release of Anupam Kher and director Vivek Agnihotri's film 'The Kashmir Files', the film received praise from several Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar.
Now, the director claims that Akki's messages of love and praise was forced and not genuine. In his most recent interview, Agnihotri claimed that none of the film stars personally congratulated him on the film or its success.
In an interview with RJ Raunac, Agnihotri stated, he had to say that because 100 people had asked him about The Kashmir Files. What could he say when they asked, "Your film didn't do well, but that one did?"
The director was referring to a viral video of Akshay from a public event. The actor was seen on stage praising the film, saying that Vivek made The Kashmir Files, which brought a painful truth to light and resulted in his film failing at the box office.
Akshay had also tweeted his admiration for the film and its ability to entice audiences to return to theatres. "Hearing absolutely incredible things about your performance in #TheKashmirFiles @AnupamPK," he wrote. It's incredible to see so many people return to the movies. I'm hoping to see the movie soon. "Ambe, Jai."
Agnihotri retweeted the tweet as he thanked Akshay Kumar, "Thanks @akshaykumar for your appreciation for #TheKashmirFile."
While 'The Kashmir Files' has made a fortune, 'Bachchhan Paandey' has received a normal response from the audience.
Celebrities such as Madhur Bhandarkar, Kangana Ranaut, Suniel Shetty, Abhishek Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Ram Gopal Varma, and many others have previously praised the film. However, according to the director, it was only on social media, and none of them personally congratulated him.
