New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) Designers take inspiration from various things around them to design clothes, but Troy Costa's source is unique -- he has drawn inspiration from the colour of ink used in account books to prepare his collection for Van Heusen India Men's Week (VHIMW), which starts Friday.

'Book keepers use red ink to record losses and black ink to record profits of a company and this is what I will portray in my collection,' Costa told IANS.

The designer will present a sharp and fitted silhouette with emphasis on the shoulders and shawl collar details. The high point of Costa's collection is variety of trousers he presents on the ramp and this time he has chosen to showcase pants shorter than usual length.

'Pants will be more of an ankle length with shorter than usual length,' said the designer.

The fabrics used will be plush velvet, silk embodied with crepe, linen and cotton on hues which are primarily black with accents of grey and purple signifying luxury.

'I have emphasized on immaculate tailoring and undeniable detail with emphasis on luxury. There is tremendous value addition made to the fabrics used in the collection by means of quilting and heat sealing. In addition, lacquering, which is one of the latest techniques, has also been used,' said the designer.

The collection will target male fashionistas who want to dress up differently for parties and social gatherings.

'Since the collection is focussed on luxury, apart from the refined customer who values luxury and finish, the focus will be occasion based clothes - marriages and functions,' said designer.
