Throwback to when Rishi Kapoor praised 'Bahu' Alia Bhatt due to THIS reason

Rishi Kapoor's Bollywood career was truly illustrious. He passed away on April 30, 2020. Before his passing, he cherished moments with his family, including Alia Bhatt, who was then Ranbir Kapoor's girlfriend. On his 5th death anniversary, we remember his admiration for Alia's talent. He acknowledged the difficulty for someone so young to lead a film.

In a 2018 interview with the Hindustan Times, Rishi Kapoor discussed his views on the younger actors he had worked with. He expressed his admiration for Alia Bhatt, praising her for accepting ‘challenging’ roles in films such as Highway and Raazi.

The veteran actor noted that luck also contributes to actors getting such roles, adding that while Alia had been fortunate, she also possessed talent.

Alia, in Student of the Year (2012) and Kapoor & Sons (2016), Alia Bhatt and Rishi Kapoor shared the screen. SOTY was Alia's Bollywood debut, where she played a student, and the late star played the Dean. In Kapoor & Sons, Rishi Kapoor was Amarjeet Kapoor, the grandfather of Sidharth Malhotra's character, Arjun. Alia played Tia, Arjun's love interest. Alia Bhatt shared a heartfelt note after Rishi Kapoor’s passing in 2020.

She wrote, “I thank the universe for giving me this opportunity to know him... today probably most of us can say he is like family - because that's how he made you feel! Love you, Rishi Uncle! Will miss you forever! Thank you for being you!”

In 1980, Rishi Kapoor married actress Neetu Singh. They had two children: Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor. In 2018, the Bobby actor was diagnosed with leukemia. After successful treatment, he struggled with a relapse. Rishi passed away on April 30, 2020, leaving a void in the hearts of his family and fans.

Alia Bhatt married Ranbir Kapoor, son of the Karz actor, in 2022. They had a private but lovely wedding on their home's balcony. Alia and Ranbir's first child, daughter Raha, was born later that year.
