Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan express grief, offer prayers for victims and families

In a heartbreaking aviation tragedy, an Air India Boeing Dreamliner 787 bound for London Gatwick crashed shortly after take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday. The crash, which occurred in a densely populated residential area, has claimed multiple lives and left the nation in shock. The flight, numbered AI171, was carrying 242 individuals — including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, one Canadian, and seven Portuguese citizens.

As news of the devastating incident broke, Bollywood celebrities joined the national outpouring of grief. Actor Shah Rukh Khan posted on Instagram, “Absolutely heartbroken with the news about the crash in Ahmedabad… my prayers for the victims, their families and all affected.” His message reflected the emotional impact the tragedy has had across the country.

Salman Khan also took to social media to extend his condolences. Sharing his feelings through an Instagram story, he wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear about the Ahmedabad plane crash… Heartfelt prayers for the families of the passengers, crew and all those affected.”

Their responses came amid a wave of tributes from the film fraternity. Actors such as Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Ananya Panday, and Sonu Sood also expressed shock and solidarity with those impacted.

Actor Aamir Khan, who rarely uses social media personally, conveyed his condolences through his production house. Aamir Khan Productions posted a message on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash that occurred today. At this moment of profound loss, our thoughts and condolences are with the families of those affected… Stay strong India.”

Emergency responders, including fire and medical teams, reached the crash site quickly and continue to manage the aftermath. Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded on X as well, saying, “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us… Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected.”

As the investigation into the cause of the crash unfolds, the nation mourns the lives lost and prays for the recovery of those injured.
