Now, it seems Alia Bhatt has indeed changed her surname to ‘Kapoor,’ with a visual confirmation emerging from her latest vlog.

A scene from Alia's vlog revealed a welcome message in her hotel room, addressing her as ‘Dear Alia Kapoor.’ This suggests the actress has updated her official documents. However, this change has sparked mixed reactions online.

One commenter stated, "Alia Bhatt is iconic; her name is a brand." Another added, "While it's her choice, 'Alia Bhatt' has a better flow; 'Alia Kapoor' sounds commonplace. I hope she keeps her original name in the public eye." Someone else commented, "Alia Bhatt, your name is a brand; you should stick with it."

Several commenters defended Alia. One person wrote, "It's amusing to see people upset about a woman using her husband's last name." In a previous interview with Mid-Day, Alia mentioned that though her screen name would remain Alia Bhatt, she would officially change her name on documents to ‘Alia Bhatt-Kapoor.’ "I am happy to do it," she stated, discussing the passport update. Alia explained that she had been planning this change for a while, but her hectic schedule had delayed it.

They are scheduled to appear together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, alongside Vicky Kaushal.
