Five movies released last week, and the Shahid-Kareena starrer, 'Jab We Met', turned out to be the surprise showstopper, with a relatively good opening.
According to reports in Indiafm.com and The Economic Times, the film opened to a 70 per cent response in Delhi and Punjab. It opened to a 50-60 per cent response in other parts of the country. By the evening of the release day, cinema halls had 70 per cent occupancy in Mumbai. According to trade analysts, these are the symptoms of a film about to become a hit, given the consistent response it has received all over the country. In the UK, the film has grossed £ 156,013 in its opening, and is, so far, the biggest Shahid Kapoor opener in the country.
The other three movies, 'Bal Ganesh', 'Mumbai Salsa', and 'No Smoking' had a relatively low response.
