Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar recently found himself amid a social media storm after several media outlets misrepresented his comments about SS Rajamouli’s filmmaking. During his conversation on Komal Nahta’s YouTube show Game Changers, Johar discussed what makes Rajamouli’s films so successful. He highlighted the conviction with which Rajamouli tells his stories, emphasizing that the director’s unwavering belief in his narratives is what makes them stand out. However, parts of the media took his words out of context, making it seem as if Johar was saying that Rajamouli’s films succeed despite having no logic. This misinterpretation led to a wave of online discussions, prompting Karan to issue a clarification.

As the controversy gained traction, Karan Johar took to his social media handle to set the record straight. Expressing his frustration over the way his words were distorted, he urged media platforms not to misinterpret his statements for clickbait headlines.

“I would request publications and media sites NOT to twist my words for their own clickbait headlines! What I have said in reverence and praise should not be misconstrued,” Johar wrote in his post.

While speaking with Komal Nahta, Karan Johar explained that many of the biggest hits in cinema are built on sheer conviction rather than strict logic. He cited SS Rajamouli’s films, such as Baahubali and RRR, as prime examples. Johar pointed out that while these movies may not always follow conventional logic, they manage to captivate audiences due to the director’s strong faith in his storytelling. He even referenced iconic films like Gadar 2 and Animal, explaining that their success stemmed from the filmmakers’ belief in their narratives rather than an adherence to realism.

However, media portals sensationalized this statement, twisting Johar’s words to imply that he was dismissing Rajamouli’s films as illogical. Headlines began circulating online, suggesting that Johar believed Rajamouli’s success came despite a lack of logic. This misrepresentation quickly went viral, sparking debates among fans and film enthusiasts.

His clarification reaffirmed his respect for Rajamouli’s craftsmanship, stressing that his comments were meant as praise rather than criticism.
