Sreejita De, who had earlier played the lead in Star One's Annu Ki Hogayee Wah Bhai Wah and Rashmi Desai, of Pari Hoon Main fame have bagged meaty roles in one of the top rated shows of COLORS, Uttaran.

Yes, you had first heard about Uttaran going for a leap post IPL on Telly Buzz, and here we give you the news of the grown-up versions of Ichcha and Tapasya.

According to our source, "Ichcha's role will be played by Sreejita while Rashmi will essay Tapasya's role. Ichcha who has had dreams of changing her fate and live happily grows up to be a simple yet beautiful girl, while Tapasya will be the glamorous and self-centred girl".

If sources are to be believed, the girls will fall in love with the same guy as the story proceeds. The focus will also be on the changing shades of friendship between Ichcha and Tapasya based on various situations they face in life.

The post leap shoot will start from the first week of May, and the leap will be aired soon after IPL, probably in the last week of May.

"There was also a buzz of Uttaran being changed to a time slot of 7, but the last few weeks have been very good in terms of numbers for the show, and this in fact might prompt the channel and production house to stick to the present 10 PM slot", adds our source.

It is also heard that the channel is working out a good promotional strategy for the leap of Uttaran, and hoardings of the girls will be put up soon. Also, the title track will be shot with the leading girls in the next few days.

We tried calling Sreejita, but she was unavailable for comments. When we called up Rashmi, her family member took our call and gave us the news that the girl has been unwell for the past one week, and will not be able to talk.

We tried to call Producer Pintoo Guha, and even left him a text message, but we got no reply.

Even though the little girls in the show will be missed, the leap will surely be welcomed by viewers!!

they have no storyline left as of now.. looking forward to the leap.. haven''t seen these 2 act before so for me its going to be cool.. the storyline after the leap is really cheesy with Tappu''s fiance falling for iccha..yuck yuck. Probably going to be boring.. but im looking fwd to a change.

Tappu being the self centered person is so obvious after the current episodes....i can totally picture her taking iccha''s bf away!!!!!I wish they hadnt butchered her character that way!Seriously!....

I cant wait to watch these to potray iccha and tapu''s character...I hope they do justice ..All the best!

i can see another show going haywire. 1st of all.. i dont like the concept of taking any leap. they could have shown a lot more incidents with tappu and ichki. I started watching it for these two kids only.

2nd of all, these girls r OK. cant say more on this since i wasnt so fond of rashmi during pari hoon main''s phase. even though i feel shreetija will do justice.

last of all, the creatives need to find something realistic than getting one lover for these 2 gals. come on.. the entire world isnt running out of guys that the two have to fall in love with the same person. that doesnt make any sense either. tappu has been a charming gal and i cant imagine she backstabs or snatches ichki''s boyfriend anyday!

Its time to think about the story again n again for the creatives. otherwise i would stop watching it!

I wish they had taken a small leap...there was also a news that there will be teenage versions of iccha and tapassya!
Sreejita''s good...but don''t like rashmi that much...
Also the plot after the leap seems very much like the other soaps!This show was doing great and would have continued to do well...there was a lot that the story could offer without having the need to take a leap!I really hope they don''t take to that storyline....
