Spirit: Sandeep Reddy Vanga's decision to replace Deepika Padukone with Tripti Dimri saved crores?

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Prabhas’ Spirit is one of the movies of 2026. Of late, it made news as the makers decided to replace Deepika Padukone with Tripti Dimri in the movie. This happened after the actress made a lot of demands that did not go well with the filmmaker and producers. Deepika Padukone demanded an eight-hour workday, a share of profits and extra fee if the shoot exceeded the 100 days mentioned in her contract. Moreover, she reportedly did not agree to dub in Telugu for the movie. Now, Tripti Dimri is on board. An old video where she says she manifests a film with Prabhas is now going viral.

It seems Tripti Dimri will be paid Rs four crores for the movie. This is Rs 16 crores lesser than Deepika Padukone who charges Rs 20 crores per film. Many feel this decision is a good one given that the movie already has the star power of Prabhas. Moreover, after the successes of Kabir Singh and Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is also a brand name in himself. The money saved can be used for other aspects of the film like marketing or production.

Tripti Dimri was paid around Rs 40 lakhs for Animal. The role of Zoya was a sensation mainly due to the bold role. Her lovemaking scenes with Ranbir Kapoor went viral. Many believe that Spirit will take her career to a new level. There are rumours that Don Lee might be a part of the project. He is one of the best known global faces of the Korean industry.
