Sonu Sood provides food to 25,000 migrant workers; aims at providing 1.5 lakh meals in all!

The Coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a standstill and many nations are trying their best to combat this virus. The impact has brought down the global economy and many countries are trying their best to recover from the loss inflicted by COVID-19. Doctors and public servants from several other occupations are doing their best to provide safe and healthy living conditions for us and they always need encouragement. 

Meanwhile, several celebrities have come ahead to help provide necessary rations for the people starving due to lockdown. Like other celebs, Sonu Sood is also doing his part amidst this health scare and as a humanitarian gesture, he is currently providing food to the migrant workers.

However, a recent report in Mumbai Mirror says that he is now providing food to 25,000 migrant workers in addition to the 45,000 he has already been providing for.

The report quoted a source saying, “Someone reached out to Sonu explaining the plight of these migrant workers who hail from states like Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal and are currently stuck in Bhiwadi. He’s set up a few kitchens in the suburb to make and deliver meals to those keeping roza.”

Furthermore, the report also quoted Sood claiming to hold a target of providing 1.5 lakh meals in all.

I’ve assured them that their requirements for the holy month will be taken care of. In these difficult times, it is important for each one of us to stand up for the other. Through this initiative, we will provide special meal kits so they don’t stay hungry after fasting all day.

A previous report in Mid Day claimed that the actor has tied up with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and has been providing meals to 45,000 Mumbaikars every day in Andheri, Jogeshwari, Juhu, and Bandra.
