Pahalgam Attack: Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood send condolences to families of victims

The whole of India is mourning the death of over 26 tourists killed in Kashmir’s Pahalgam area. It is peak tourist season, and this attack is seen as kind of a warning in a state that was trying to get back to normalcy. The tourists killed are all Hindus, as per reports. It seems they asked for the IDs of the tourists and forced them to partially undress before shooting them dead. Home Minister Amit Shah has now left for Kashmir. The injured are being treated at the hospital and security has been tightened in the area. The terrorists entered to Baisaran via Kokernag.

The Resistance Front, a proxy outfit of the Lashkar-E-Taiba has claimed responsibility for this attack. JD Vance and his wife Usha have sent condolences saying their hearts are with the people of India. Pahalgam is a high altitude area accessible through foot and horseback. The evacuation was done through helicopters. The injured are all stable. India’s PM Narendra Modi who is now on a trip to Saudi Arabia has asked Amit Shah to personally oversee the security and condition of the victims. The RSS has also expressed its shock and anguish over the killings.

This has again led to the debate about Jammu and Kashmir. Many are again stating that Jammu should be made into a separate state while Kashmir should be under the Central Government. Tourists are sharing chilling accounts of how it happened over there with terrorists firing bullets. The majority of people killed were from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Celebs have asked PM Narendra Modi to take strict action so that this kind of thing does not repeat itself. Some days back, we saw horrifying visuals coming out of Murshidabad.

We have to see what steps the Government takes after this. All eyes will be on the PM and his Cabinet.
