The much-discussed YRF Spy Universe film Alpha has added Bobby Deol to its cast, with the actor set to play the antagonist. The announcement came as a surprise reveal during theatrical screenings of War 2, where audiences were given a brief glimpse of Alpha alongside the news of Deol’s role.
Sharvari, who stars in Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt, could not contain her excitement. Taking to Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Feeling toooo tooo tooooo overwhelmed & proud to be a part of this incredible cinematic universe! YRF Spy universe is jussssst. AAAAHHHHHH!!!!”
She also praised Deol’s on-screen presence, sharing a still of him from the reveal and writing, “Whoooaaaa @iambobbydeol sirrrr!!! Your screen presence is just. What an introduction to you & Alpha in War 2!!” The Alpha teaser, shown exclusively in theatres, offered only a fleeting taste of what’s to come but was enough to spark conversations online. Many drew parallels between Deol’s menacing look in Alpha and his recent performance in Animal.

Meanwhile, speculation continues over Alia Bhatt’s possible cameo in War 2. The buzz started when Alia shared the War 2 trailer on Instagram with the caption, “Mazedaaaaaar See you on the 14th. In a cinema near meee.” The phrasing prompted fans to wonder if she might appear in a post-credit sequence.
Reports from India Today suggest that both Alia and Sharvari were expected to feature in a short but significant scene in War 2, intended to set up Alpha. “It’s short, yes, but it has tension, mystery, and a hint of what these two women are capable of. It’s not just a cameo — it’s a setup,” a source was quoted as saying.
The report also claimed that the scene was shot under strict secrecy, with minimal crew present. However, the final cut of War 2 does not include appearances by either Alia or Sharvari, leaving fans to wait until Alpha’s release for their on-screen collaboration.
With Bobby Deol stepping in as the ‘alpha villain’ and Sharvari openly celebrating her place in the YRF Spy Universe, Alpha is shaping up to be one of the studio’s most anticipated projects.
