The coronavirus pandemic has spread concern around the globe and the Indian Government has successfully taken up strict measures to combat the expansion of COVID-19. Earlier this week, BMC decreed the closure of all schools, colleges, cinemas and gymnasium centers across the town.
However, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor along with wife Mira Rajput Kapoor came under scanner after the two were reportedly seen stepping outside their gym in Bandra. Their mysterious presence spawned several questions about their spotting at AntiGravity Club which opened at 5.30 pm exclusively for them.
Shahid was reportedly seen working out in the VIP area. Meanwhile, wife Mira was seen working out in the general area and made several rounds to the VIP area. The couple later made an exit through a different gate.
A recent in Hindustan Times quoted assistant municipal commissioner of H-West ward, Vinayak Vispute, saying, “It was wrong on the part of the gym to remain open, even for one patron. If gymnasiums don’t follow state directives, they will be booked under relevant sections and licenses will be revoked.”
Vispute also informed that the BMC has also written to Shahid and the gym owner, reprimanding them both for violating a health advisory issued by the state government and posing a risk to public safety.
Yudhishthir Jaising - the owner of AntiGravity Club defended himself as he said the gym was ‘completely unoperational’ and that they were simply chilling like friends on Sunday. Furthermore, Shahid also clarified saying, “He has been shooting in Chandigarh and had asked me to get some equipment after he sustained an injury (tendonitis). I was showing him the right way to use the equipment. In any case, we work out and train together at each other’s houses.”
On the work front, Shahid will be seen as a cricketer in the film - Jersey which is a remake of a Telugu film of the same name. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur and is scheduled to release on August 28.
