About the Operation

In retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the tragic loss of 27 innocent Hindu tourists, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK. The briefing was historically significant, featuring Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, a notable helicopter pilot from the Indian Air Force, and Colonel Sophia Qureshi of the Indian Army's Corps of Signals, who led the communication efforts. The operation's name honored the women widowed by the event, and the decision to have women lead the military briefing was celebrated as a show of strength.
