Shah Rukh Khan might lose his star status to Salman Khan: RGV
Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma lashed out at superstar Shah Rukh Khan saying that he might lose his star status to Salman Khan just like Kamal Haasan did to Rajinikanth.

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma lashed out at superstar Shah Rukh Khan saying that he might lose his star status to Salman Khan just like Kamal Haasan did to Rajinikanth.
He also questioned SRK's movie selection process saying that he "should learn from Kamal's mistakes and just be Salman".
In a series of tweets, the "Satya" filmmaker took digs at Shah Rukh's recent decision to turn into an obsessed fan in "Fan" and also upcoming Aanand L. Rai's project in which he will be seen as a dwarf. He also hinted at Kamal's "Appu Raja".
He shared: "Megastar SRK becoming ordinary fan, dwarf etc is as big a same blunder as what Kamal Haasan did to lose his stardom to Rajinikanth (Salman Khan). Kamal was as big a superstar as Rajinikanth till he started doing dwarf, fat, tall etc and as a fan I hope SRK doesn't listen to wrong advisers."
The filmmaker, who is awaiting the release of his Kannada directorial debut 'Killing Veerappan', based on the shooting down of the forest brigand, added: "SRK must learn from mistakes of Kamal and not listen to near and dear ones who are stopping him from becoming a Mega Rajinikanth.
"I call SRK as megastar because neither (he) has muscles of Salman nor workmanship of Aamir (Khan) but yet he is taller than both by being just himself. Rajinikanth is Rajinikanth because he always himself and Kamal always trying to be someone else. I hope SRK will remain like himself like Salman. Kamal could have been a better Rajinikanth if he didn't keep becoming someone else ... so SRK should learn from Kamal's mistakes and just be Salman".
The "Aag" director also shared that "great actors" are available in abundance, but being a star comes as a blessing.
He shared: "Great actors are dime a dozen in NSD, stage etc whereas stars like SRK come blessed by God/Allah/Buddha etc, which is what SRK is not realising. Clint Eastwood super star for 30 years being himself and then is critics Hero. I don't believe in God but as fan I pray to Allah SRK realises truth".

I really dont know what to say to this? All I know is, sometimes you have to challenge yourself. I dont think SRK will loose his stardom. He has come too far for that I guess. But I do see some of the points he is making. He is saying don't deviate too much from your core. Aamir has always done different things. That IS his "thing". Salman was always a macho man, that is his thing. But even he has done a few different things. Many forget SRK established himself in Grey and also Anti Hero characters. He was so good at those. Then he did Romantic hero. People forget this guy used to be versatile. He was not a one trick pony. So if he wants to go full circle and try risky stuff again, then so be it. Yes he is a star, but he is also an "actor", or has Mr RGV forgotten the definition of that? Having said that I do appreciate where he is coming from.

SRK has nothing to lose.25 years in the industry are enough to establish him and nothing or no one can change that. Not even him. His career is at a point that he can explore characters, experiment and not be worried of losing that stardom. Mr Amitabh Bachchan is the biggest legend we know. But in the last so many years of his career he took many such movies that were completely baseless and unnecessary. But he took them anyway and his stardom never got questioned. So why should Shahrukh's. Salman is one of my favourites, but are we calling Kick, Ready, Wanted,Jai Ho and even Dabbang 2 good choices? Those films got moolah, but they didn't challenge Salman. It was Bajrangi that challenged him and he succeeded. SRK took up fan because it was off beat and he did well at that. That's his job and he did it well. All movies cannot work, and that RGV of all should know.He in fact has no right to talk about this. He needs to up his skills before demanding others to do the same with theirs.

I agree with every word of RGV... FAN has to be one of the most stupidest movies SRK has ever done.. a man of his stature should think 3x before signing a film.. but looks like he's only being offered to do such crap. Salman Khan's movies are entertaining, and when you exit the theatre you feel PAISA VASOOL. After walking out of FAN, 90% of ppl were slamming their head on the wall asking WHY they wasted their time and money.

Doing challenging roles is wrong? Actors are supposed to play characters not themselves on screen. What a bad advice to give to any real actor!

Can Salman Khan act without using his macho man attitude, if he can , let me know. Mr Gopal started the comparison, so i have compared. Otherwise i would not use any actor's name. Mr. Gopal should not compare actors! I gave him his own medicine. No offense to any actor.

RGV should not even comment on any stars. He has made three hit films in his career (Rangeela, Sarkar, and Satya) compared to the number of hits all the Khans have given. Plus, SRK has already established his stardom. Nobody can take that away from him just like Salman, Amir, and Amitabh Bacchan. Plus, I don't understand Indian audience (I am in US). If SRK does garbage like Happy New Year, that film makes 200 cr. and if he does something like My name is Khan or Fan (way better films than HNY or Dilwale any day), people call it critically acclaimed or great cinema, but not everybody wants to watch these films, which is why these films don't make that kind of moolah. I think he is doing right by balancing it out. SRK is awesome (too talented to be in Rohit Shetty or Farah Khan film) and I loved him in Fan. People in India need to develop a better taste in cinema. SRK rocks!!!!

So true once upon a time super star srk losing out his stardom with salman and srk loses because his choice of movies are going worst by worst from diwale to fan his moves turned boring and worst hope he realizes asp. Salman was no were in the beginning but with his choice and hard work salman made up to the top and continues doing so... Rgv is making sense first time in life usually he makes useless comments but this time he says it right . Srk all the best in future bounce back
