'Right now I'm in Goa shooting with the entire cast of 'Alibaug' barring Sanju. But he joins us later in Mumbai to complete his work,' Gupta told IANS.
Sanjay, who is on interim bail granted by the Supreme Court, has already completed one shooting schedule of 'Alibaug' in Mumbai after which he was incarcerated. He is expected to join the team later in the month.
'There's absolutely no question of 'Alibaug' without Sanjay. He's the film's backbone.'
Meanwhile, another of Sanjay's buddies Bunty Walia is going full steam ahead with his plans of making 'Lamha' with the actor in the lead role.
'I'm giving Sanjay a completely new look for 'Lamha'. We start shooting next year,' said Walia.
The actor was sent to jail July 31 after a special TADA -Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act - court sentenced him to six years' rigorous imprisonment for illegal possession of arms in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bombings. He was moved to Yerawada Jail in Pune Aug 2. Later, on Aug 20, he was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court and released from jail.
Right now the actor is having a temporary relief as he will get a copy of his court verdict only on Sep 27. He is supposed to surrender once he gets the copy.ALSO READ: 'Welcome to the Jungle' :Bollywood's biggest ensemble star cast unites for acapella extravaganza
