Salman Khan prioritizes fans sentiments after Sikandar debacle; puts Ganga Ram completely on the backburner?

Salman Khan fans had unanimously expressed their displeasure when news floated that he is planning a mass rural entertainer, Ganga Ram with Sanjay Dutt. He was planning to launch a new director, Krish Ahir. The two superstars would play the characters of Ganga and Ram respectively. Fans of the actor were extremely displeased as they felt he should stay away from such kind of movies for some time now. Sources told Bollywood Hungama that fans strongly reacted to this news on social media. Sikandar got a decent opening but crashed after three days at the box office. It was only the star power of Salman Khan that helped it make upto Rs 200 crores at the box office. His fans felt one more bad movie would dent the star power of Salman Khan. The superstar’s past few films like Tiger 3, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Sikandar under-performed at the box office.

Salman Khan’s friend helped arranged a meet of the superstar with some of his ardent fans. This happened days after the release of Sikandar. Fans said they were not happy with his decision to dive into Ganga Ram. He said he would look into their issues.

A few days later, he decided to put this project on hold. He’s now looking at scripts from other filmmakers like Kabir Khan, Ali Abbas Zafar, Sooraj Barjatya, etc.

The whole industry has appreciated how Salman Khan’s fans took matters in their own hands. They agreed that Salman Khan should stayaway from mediocre movies like Sikandar and conveyed their displeasure to him. In fact, the hue and cry over Ganga Ram on social media was huge.

The source said, “Usually, fans of other actors are in denial mode when their favourite star delivers a debacle. They continue to defend the actor. But Salman Khan fans are unique.”

Trade experts have also lauded Salman Khan’s decision to meet his fans. They appreciated how he heard out their concerns and acted on it. It is evident he does not want to upset his loyal fan base.
