Saif Ali Khan attacked: Actor requests Rs35 lakh claim but gets approved for THIS much; check insurance papers

Saif Ali Khan was attacked early Thursday when an intruder broke into his home during a burglary. He sustained several injuries and was swiftly taken to Lilavati Hospital for surgery. His health is stable now. In the midst of this situation, a picture of Saif's health insurance claim has gone viral, raising concerns about a breach of privacy.

A report by Mint has revealed that Saif holds a policy with Niva Bupa Health Insurance. According to a leaked document, the 54-year-old actor, admitted to a suite at Lilavati Hospital, requested a claim of Rs. 35.95 lakh for his treatment, of which Rs. 25 lakh has been approved. The document also included sensitive information, such as his member ID, reportedly 2923938, and indicated that his expected discharge date is January 21, 2024.

Mr. Khan is one of our policy holders. A cashless pre-authorisation request was sent to us upon his hospitalisation and we have given an approval of an initial amount to start the treatment. Kareena Recorded the statement

As per a report by India Today, a senior police inspector from the Bandra police station visited Saif and Kareena's home to take her statement regarding the incident. The inspector documented the Crew actress's account, which is important for reconstructing the events that resulted in Saif's hospitalization.

Kareena reportedly told the police, "The intruder got very aggressive during the scuffle with my husband, stabbing him multiple times. We somehow managed to move to the 12th floor, but the jewellery left in the open remained untouched."

About the attack

Saif was stabbed six times by an intruder who demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The frightening incident took place in their Mumbai residence, with the assailant also entering their youngest son Jeh’s room. Hours after Saif underwent surgery, Kareena requested privacy for their family as they navigate this traumatic experience.
