Rhea Chakraborty to Remain in Jail; Advocate Satish Manshinde says 'We are in no hurry to apply for Bail’!

Rhea Chakraborty remains to be the prime suspect in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death investigation. The actress was recently arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for allegedly arranging and financing the consumption of marijuana. 

Several reports over the weekend claimed that Chakrabortys are likely to approach the Bombay High Court on Monday challenging the sessions court's order. Now, Rhea’s lawyer Advocate Satish Manshinde issued a statement that they are in no hurry to apply for bail. 

Addressing Rhea and brother Showik’s bail Maneshinde said, “Even if we get a copy of the Order today, we are not in a hurry and moving immediately… We will study the order, it’s implications and developments in the case at the NCB level and then decide. There’s no room for speculation… once it is filed we will share a copy of the bail application.”

Her bail plea was recently rejected by the Mumbai sessions court. The rejection implied that Rhea will continue to be in jail. Meanwhile, the NCB had also claimed that Rhea was involved in the financing and the activities related to the illicit trafficking of drugs. These claims were supported by the voluntary statements made by her and other accused, followed by WhatsApp chat records, call detail records, and information recovered from laptops and tablets. On these basis, the NCB has ‘strongly opposed’ to Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) continues to probes the financial irregularities in Sushant Singh Rajput’s bank account, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) continue their investigation of the drug angel.
