Ranveer Singh reveals putting up Charlie Chaplin's poster in vanity before filming Jayeshbhai Jordaar

Fans have been raving about Jayeshbhai Jordaar's trailer ever since it was released. Ranveer Singh has continued to generate excitement for his movie yet again, and fans absolutely cannnot sit tight to see it in theatres. 

Everything is being discussed, whether it is his character or his appearance. Now that the release date is approaching, Ranveer is on a promotional spree, leaving no questions unanswered to foster his upcoming social comedy.

Previously, it was reported that Ranveer's character was influenced by Charlie Chaplin, and now, in a recent interview with Mid Day, the actor disclosed that he drew inspiration from the renowned comedian.

He went on to say that Jayeshbhai is a character without a counterpart in Hindi cinema, but if he had to draw a comparison with anyone in terms of demeanour, it would be Charlie Chaplin. 

Ranveer Singh disclosed that he decided to take on Jayeshbhai Jordaar because it allowed him to discover his favourite genre, tragic comedy. Ranveer elaborated on his character, saying 

“I saw a close-up picture of Chaplin during my research. On the face of it, it looks like a funny picture, but if you look into his eyes, you will see that they are brimming with tears. That was my driving force for Jayesh. I blew up this picture to four feet by four feet, and pasted it in my vanity van. It gave me every character cue that I needed before going out to become Jayesh.”

The comedian, according to the Gully Boy actor, had the potential to accept his distress and perform with it. Ranveer joked that his circumstances were horrific, but he was able to cope through the strength of humour.
