Recently, the cast of 83 came back to India after they wrapped up shooting for the movie, the cast even had a wrap-up party for the same which was hosted by Deepika Padukone.

Talking about the experience of shooting at the real-life locations like the Lords stadium and recreating the legendary tale, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror director Kabir Khan revealed that Ranveer Singh broke down with compassion on the sets as he called out 'cut' after filming the closing scene. He also lauded Ranveer for his effort and said that the actor lives his roles in every film he does. Be it the physical appearance or nuances, Ranveer aces the character he plays. Ranveer bore such uncanny resemblance to the iconic Kapil Dev that even the cricketer's daughter Amiya Dev, who joined the film as the assistant director, found it eerie.

He further shared that the team of '83 shot for 5 days at the Lord’s stadium in London. They ventured into the dressing rooms and the locker room. They also stepped out on the balcony where the World Cup was presented to the man of the game, Kapil Dev. He also disclosed that they brought the real World Cup for Ranveer Singh to get him all the feels and an overwhelmed Ranveer broke into tears after his last shot.

"We shot for five days at the Lord’s stadium in London, entering the members only Long Room where no camera had ventured before, the dressing rooms and locker rooms, then, stepped out on the balcony where the World Cup was presented to Kapil sir.

And guess what? They brought out the real World Cup for Ranveer (Singh, who is playing Kapil Dev in the film) too. Overwhelmed, he broke down when I shouted “Cut”.

Among those on the balcony was also Clive Lloyd’s son who, like Gordan Greenidge and Malcolm Marshall’s sons, is playing his father in the film. We had legends like Kapil Dev, Gavaskar to Vivian Richards dropping by. That day, Clive Lloyd, captain of the ’83 West Indian team which had crashed to 140 all out to give Kapil us an unlikely win, was there to support his son. When we urged him to come closer, he quipped that he didn’t want to see the Cup being given away for the second time in his life," said Kabir Khan.

83' traces the iconic win of the Indian cricket team at the 1983 world cup against West Indies as they made history and picked the World Cup for the first time ever.

Ranveer Singh playing the iconic Kapil Dev, to Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, While Deepika Padukone Will be seen in a cameo avatar playing Romi, Kapil Dev's Wife. 83 has a huge ensemble cast.
