Priyanka Chopra to visit Bareilly on mayor's invite

Actress Priyanka Chopra has been invited to her hometown Bareilly by the city's mayor, ahead of the release of her first music single "In my city" and her film "Barfi!".

The mayor of Bareilly and the people there are very proud of the 30-year-old, who is making her international debut with the song.

Her song "In my city" will be launched Sep 13 as part of "Thursday Night Kickoff", a pre-game show for NFL Network's Thursday Night Football. While her film "Barfi!", in which she has essayed the challenging role of an autistic girl, hits the screens just a day later, Sep 14.

The former Miss World was anyway planning a visit to Bareilly to seek the blessings of her elders, but the invitation has made it all the more special for her, said a source.

Priyanka is very close to her family and even sports a "Daddy's lil girl" now. So, even though she stays in Mumbai now, people in Bareilly feel connected to her.
