Priyanka Chopra joining Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in a film was unexpected by their fans. Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zara has brought together three of Bollywood's biggest names. Priyanka has now spoken out about why she agreed to collaborate with her rivals on the same film.
Priyanka is a well-known name in Hollywood, and her most recent Bollywood project was the 2019 film The Sky Is Pink. Priyanka stated that she has seen women standing up for women in both Bollywood and Hollywood.
Priyanka described Katrina and Alia as "two of the top actresses in the country" in an interview with Deadline, adding, "The three of us decided we wanted to do a movie together and partner together to produce it." But the point is that, yes, it was very different when I first started out. We were all pitted against each other, and our casting was heavily reliant on the lead actor of the film, as well as who was popular at the time, which was a very unsettling feeling. It's a very telling question because it really steered my career in a very specific direction because of an uncomfortable feeling."
She shared her mantra for success in her film career, saying, "I took on many roles that were female driven." She further added that She took on projects that were entirely on her shoulders because it was very unsettling to be the flavour of the season and then not be cast. So it defines her taking on films that didn't always have the big male leads and making her career on her own.
Farhan Akhtar directed Jee Le Zaraa, which is produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby, which is led by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. Zoya, Farhan, and Reema collaborated on the script.
