Priyanka Chopra opens up about her mental health in lockdown; Confesses how she kept her sanity!

Actress Priyanka Chopra spent her lockdown with hubby Nick Jonas in the US. The actress kept her fans updated by sharing pictures and videos of the couple engaged in the indoor activities and how they kept themselves busy.

While the actress even released her memoir, Unfinished during the period, she has now opened up about how she took care of her mental health.

In a conversation with, the Quantico actress revealed how she took care of her mental health during the COVID-19 lockdown. Like many others, the actress shared that she began the lockdown period by binge-watching and remained glued to her TV sets for hours. She pointed out that this phase not even lasted for two weeks. 

Hence, the actress in order to remain sane did certain things such as having a purpose for every single day even during the lockdown, despite being indoors, working out and more. 

She said, “After that, I was like, 'Alright, gotta find a sense of purpose to stay sane. I think a couple of things that really worked for my sanity and my mental health were, one, having a sense of purpose every given day, deciding that I’m going to work on something that’s larger than myself, which is outside of myself.” 

She then decided to surround herself with people whom she loves - her husband, dogs and also remained in touch with her family via the virtual platform by connecting with them via Facetime.

"Second, to surround myself with people that I love. So I had my husband, my dogs, whenever I could include people in my bubble - but also staying in touch with family and friends, taking the time to put someone on Facetime and do whatever you’re doing and just chat. I think that talking instead of just binge-watching TV has been really, really been helpful for me," she added.

She further revealed that she was previously someone who wasn't consistent with her workout regime, confessing that she would make excuses to skip the gym.

However, during the lockdown, she ensured she worked out and now, she works out at least four times a week.

"Especially with lockdown, we’ve learned how to do easy workouts at home, which don’t require a gym or a treadmill or a reformer, and it makes such a difference. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to making excuses again," Priyanka said in her conversation with

Meanwhile, international star Priyanka Chopra has come forward to express her concern over the ‘grave’ Covid-19 situation in India and also urged everyone to stay at home.

On Tuesday, Priyanka Chopra reached out to US President Joe Biden, and other US government officials seeking help for India in its fight against the novel coronavirus. She mentioned that her heart breaks to see India’s current situation and highlighted that the US ordered about 550 million more vaccines than needed. Priyanka expressed her concerns over the lack of vaccines in India and highlighted, “the situation in my country is critical."
