After Barot House, Zee5 is back with another original psychological thriller titled Posham Pa. Plot

The movie starts with the voice-over of a child singing ‘Posham Pa’. It further shows Prajakta Deshpande’s (Mahie Gill) dead body in jail and the two sisters Regha Sathe (Sayani Gupta) and Shikha Deshpande (Ragini Khanna) crying over her body. The sisters received the death penalty for killing over 50 children between 1990-1997 in Maharashtra while Gundeep Singh Saggar and Nikhat Ismail are documentarians are trying to reveal the truth behind the spine-chilling murders. While seeking the truth, the duo meets the sisters and interview them along with other witnesses from the case.

Prajakta, mother of Regha and Shikha has been portrayed as a drug addict, sex worker and a criminal by nature. Initially, it is shown that how she steals from her clients and kills them and how she nurtured her daughters to steal, kill and survive. Sayani Gupta donned a half bald look as she is playing a psychotic woman who has been used for serial killings and other crimes. Shikha (Ragini Khanna) is Regha’s stepsister who likes to read and her character is shown in a good light. While Shikha cooperates with Gundeep and Nikhat and tells them her side of the story about how she and her sister were nurtured and prepared to be serial killers, Regha is hiding something as she is haunted by the ghost of her mother, who asks her not to reveal anything. However, the entire movie takes an unpredictable turn in the end.

What did we like?

Performances: The most challenging role is to play a dark character and Sayani Gupta has done a remarkable job as Regha. There are various scenes of her that will give you goosebumps. Though Sayani has already played some intense characters on-screen, Regha is her best performance till date. Mahie and Ragini gave their best as Prajakta and Shikha.

The looks of the main cast are the highlight which will make you want to watch the film. The ladies looked raw and wild, we especially liked Sayani’s half bald look.

We liked the concept and the main storyline of the film as it narrates the true story of three serial killers. There was a scene where Regha is loving a kid and suddenly pushes him in front of a moving vehicle without any expression on her face, it seemed so effortless and will surely shake you for a moment. The bone-chilling coldblooded murders are another highlight of the movie which will make you wonder if a normal person can do it.

What we didn’t like

Some scenes were not properly aligned as it moved in two different timelines. Also, a few scenes looked incomplete while some were repeated which might bore us. The movie only focused on the killing scenes and less on emotions. Gundeep and Nikhat’s characters were not developed well, the makers could have worked a little more on their part too. With such a strong storyline and intense performances, the screenplay could have been better.

Posham Pa

Verdict

Posham Pa is a good one-time watch for the lovers of crime and thrillers. The cold-blooded killings and intense performances are the highlights of the film.
