Veteran actor Paresh Rawal, who has given countless memorable performances over the years, recently opened up about a surprising chapter from his early days in Bollywood. In a candid conversation with The Lallantop, the seasoned actor shared how an unexpected injury and an even more unexpected remedy became a turning point in his life.

Rawal recalled injuring his leg while shooting for Rajkumar Santoshi’s film Ghatak. The incident left him deeply worried about his career, fearing the worst. Fellow actors Tinnu Anand and Danny Denzongpa quickly took him to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital for treatment. While he was grappling with the fear of a long recovery, fate had something unique in store for him.

It was during his hospital stay that Veeru Devgn, the renowned action director and father of Ajay Devgn, paid him a visit. Concerned about Rawal’s injury, Veeru Devgn offered an unusual piece of advice; he told Rawal to drink his own urine first thing every morning. According to him, many fighters followed this practice for faster healing and better strength. Along with this, Veeru Devgn also advised him to avoid alcohol, mutton, and tobacco, recommending he stick to simple, regular food.

Determined to recover, Paresh Rawal decided to fully commit to the advice. He even made it a memorable experience by sipping it "like beer," as he humorously described. He followed this routine for 15 days straight. Much to everyone’s surprise, when the doctors checked his X-rays later, they found his recovery had progressed far quicker than expected. What would normally take around two to two-and-a-half months, took him just a month and a half to heal completely.

On the work front, Paresh Rawal continues to stay busy and entertain audiences. He will soon be seen in Priyadarshan’s upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, where he shares the screen with Akshay Kumar and Tabu. Fans are also eagerly waiting to see him reprise his iconic role in Hera Pheri 3 alongside Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty.
