Bhubaneswar, Jan 16 (IANS) The two-year-old marriage of a leading Oriya film actress ended when she and her husband filed a mutually-agreed divorced petition in a court here, their lawyer said Wednesday.

Leading Oriya film actress Anu Choudhury married businessman Sandeep Mishra on March 3, 2006. They have been separated for the past three months.

On Tuesday, the couple filed a joint petition in a civil court at the state capital here for divorce with mutual consent, lawyer Prasanta Routray told IANS.

Choudhury had entered the silver screen as a child artiste.

She got a break after playing the lead role in Oriya movie 'Maa Gojabayani', a super hit released in 1999. Afterwards, she went on to sign a string of other Oriya movies. Prominent among them movies are 'Maa O Mamata', 'Mana Rahigala Tumari Thare', 'Kathantara' and 'Gare Sindura Dhare Luha'.

She also played the lead role in Telugu film 'Subha Bela'. Choudhury has also acted in dozens of television serials.

Recently, she won the best actress award in the 4th Cine India International Film Festival for her role in 'Kathantara' - that shows the trials and tribulations of the survivors of super cyclone that hit Orissa in October 1999 and killed over 10,000 people.

She also put up an impressive performance in Sushant Mishra's award winning movie 'Biswaprakash', which was part of the Indian Panorama and was adjudged the best regional film in Oriya.

'I can't disclose anything. It's a family matter,' Choudhury said after filing the divorce petition. Her husband did not comment.
