'Kesari 2' Akshay Kumar officially announces the film along with teaser release date

After much speculation and excitement, Akshay Kumar has officially announced his upcoming historical drama, Kesari Chapter 2. The actor, along with filmmaker Karan Johar and the film's team, shared the film's release date and teaser details, sending fans into a frenzy. The highly anticipated sequel is now scheduled to hit theaters on April 18, 2025. The teaser is set to release on March 24, 2025, offering audiences a first glimpse into this gripping historical tale.

Unlike its predecessor, which depicted the valor of Sikh soldiers at the Battle of Saragarhi, Kesari Chapter 2 will delve into a different chapter of history. The film will revolve around the life of C. Sankaran Nair, a fearless lawyer and freedom fighter who took on the British Raj and played a key role in exposing the horrifying truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

The film is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire, authored by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, with Raghu Palat being the great-grandson of C. Sankaran Nair. The film will also see Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles. Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is backing the project under Dharma Productions, recently took to social media to express his admiration for the team.

He praised the dedication of the director and the relentless hard work behind the film despite pandemic-related delays.
