Boss is a remake of the south flick Pokkiri Raja and it seems like Akshay Kumar is totally back with this one. Whatever we lost in Khiladi 786 and Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Doobara is back with BOSS. No one is a better match for such a title and such a film than Akshay.

It starts in Banaras where Big Boss Danny runs a transport business under the disguise of being a contract killer. Akshay Kumar is disowned by his idealistic father played by Mithoon and Danny is the one who takes care of this BOSS.

In the backdrop of this father-son relationship between Mithoon Chakraborthy and Akshay Kumar, develops a lovestory in the subplot between Ankita  (Aditi Rao Hydari) and Shiv (Shiv Pandit). Love story develops and there's no villain to interfere? Well, never has that ever happened in a hindi film. Sadly Aditi does not get to show her potential as an actor in this one. She's just another pretty girl in the frame which I don't like. The makers should have used her talent to the fullest. That is fulfilled by Ronit Roy who does justice to the character of ACP Ayushmaan. He is cruel and has a very strong screen presence. He stands right infront of Akshay Kumar still works like a charm.

After a long time, Akshay looks very happy on screen jumping from buildings, boxing everyone and just being Akshay again, one more time.

We totally like him like that.

Where the film loses its charm is in its confusion. There's a lovestory, there's an emotionally bottled up father-son relationship, and there's action!!!

But this one seriously deserves a watch. It entertains in parts and watching Akshay cracking those over the top jokes is too much fun. The songs of the film work like a charm. They make you tap your feet and sing along.

All in all, pretty much that's Boss for you. I am giving the film 2 and a half stars, as one is for Akshay and the other one is for Ronit and half for bringing back our Khiladi on screen.
