Mohanlal plans daredevil stunt to motivate youth

Thiruvananthapuram, April 17 (IANS) Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will perform a daredevil stunt called 'Burning Illusion' here April 27 to motivate the youth in Kerala, the actor said Thursday.

Mohanlal has been training for the act for the past 18 months under the guidance of magician Gopinath Muthukad, who heads the Magic Academy here.

The open-air escape stunt, to be held at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium here, is a curtain raiser for Vismayam 2008, a programme in which close to a thousand magicians from all over the world will take part May 1-4.

'This is a subtle way of conveying to the youth that they can surmount any problems in their life if they have the determination. I decided to do my bit to relate with them through this stunt act,' Mohanlal told reporters here.

Muthukad said: 'In 2005, when I approached him to inaugurate a programme of mine, Mohanlal evinced interest in doing a stunt act. I was initially hesitant but working with him for the past 18 months I am convinced that he will come out with flying colours on the 27th.'
