While all of us were coming to terms about Tanushree Dutta's allegations on Nana Patekar of sexual harassment, the writer and producer of the famous sitcom Tara - Vinta Nanda, accused lead actor of the show Alok Nath, of raping her in a lengthy post.
And while Alok Nath has not really gone out and spoken up on the allegations, the actor and his wife Ashu Nath have now filed a civil suit in the Dindoshi sessions court against Nanda. Accusing her of defamation charges, the actor has filed a case seeking Rs.1 as damages and also an apology from the producer, a leading tabloid reported.
In a statement that was recorded before Magistrate R M Nerlikar, Ashu Nath was quoted as saying that Nanda's allegations had damaged her and her husband's reputation. This matter will be heard in court on the 1st of November, where the court will also hear three witness accounts in favour of Alok Nath.
"We have suffered grave and irreparable loss, harm and injury which could never be compensated in terms of money," the couple said in the statement.
The tabloid also spoke to Vinta Nanda's lawyer Dhruti Kapadia stated that they were yet to receive any defamation proceedings but if and when they would be delivered to them, they (Vinta) would deal with the same in the due process of law.
