'Loved the first generation of GHKKPM, Bhavika & Hitesh are..': Hemakshi Ujjain on bagging the show & more

Himakshi Ujjain, who recently replaced Pooja Salunkhe for the new season of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, got in an exclusive chat with India Forums and spoke about her forthcoming stint on the show. The actress opened up on replacing Salunkhe and a lot more.

Tell us about your character on the show and how did you bag it?

So my character in the show is, her name is Karishma and she is called Lakshmi at home. Uske husband ke sath uski shadi bahut pehle zabardasti kardi gayi thi, husband ko padhi likhi ladki chaiye thi lekin Lakshmi padhi likhi nahi hai but she is a good human being. Itne saalo se uska husband uske sath rehta nahi hai toh woh thodi chidchidi hogayi hai. Uski ek beti hai Aditi jo ki autistic hai toh is wajah se ek toh pati ka pyaar kabhi mila nahi, itna sab ho ne bawjud usne uske ghar ko bahut ache se sambhala hai. Uske andar bahut pyaar hai but jab wo apne husband ko dekhti hai toh hamesha chidti rehti hai. Abtak maine bahut hi positive characters kiye hai, ye character negative nahi hai haan lekin jab insan chidchida hojata hai toh kaise hota hai, bas wahi hai.

Since it was an overnight replacement, things must have happened very quickly, how did you mentally prepare yourself? Did you have the time to even fathom how everything happened?

Yes, things were very quick. Mujhe yaad hai I got a call in the night and went for the mock shoot next day and then I was shooting with them. The production house and the team is an amazing one so things have been easy. After Bhool Bhulaiyya, I decided to take a break but when I got a call for GHKKPM, I instantly agreed because itna purana, itna popular aur itna successful show hai.

GHKKPM has been one of the most successful shows on the channel. Did you happen to watch any of the episodes? If yes, which generation did you like the most?

Yes, I have followed the show a bit and I had a few friends in the first generation, so according to me, the first generation was the best because I think show jab shuru hota hai toh sabse acha hota hai, also because I have friends in the show, I think I will go with the first generation.

What are your thoughts on bhavika and Hitesh’s work in the show?

I have not worked with Bhavika and Hitesh but I am sure they are amazing. Jab ek actor acha hota hai toh unke chehre par hi dikh jata hai and un dono ke chehro par wo dikhta hai. They are amazing souls I am sure.
