Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh hit theaters today, April 18th, starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan. Fans are already wondering when they can stream the film at home.

While an official date hasn't been announced, reports suggest that JioHotstar has acquired the digital rights for Kesari 2. The film is likely to be available on the platform sometime in June, following the typical two-month gap between theatrical release and OTT availability for Bollywood films. However, this is not confirmed.

Kesari Chapter 2 is based on the book The Case that Shook the Empire: One Man’s Fight for the Truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, by Raghu and Pushpa Palat. It delves into the defamation case filed against Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair by Sir Michael O’Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab and the mastermind behind the massacre. O’Dwyer's allegations stemmed from Nair's book detailing the British Raj's atrocities in Punjab.

Akshay Kumar takes on the role of Sir C Sankaran Nair, a courageous lawyer who dared to challenge the British Raj in a landmark legal battle. He seeks justice for the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, facing off against Sir Michael O’Dwyer, played by R Madhavan. Ananya Panday joins the fight as a young, determined lawyer.

The film's opening day advance bookings are promising, with Kesari Chapter 2 already generating Rs 3 crore gross (including block seats). Over 56,000 tickets have been sold for approximately 4,400 shows, indicating strong audience interest. Even without block seats, the film has garnered nearly Rs 2 crore. These numbers suggest a successful box office run.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar, Kesari Chapter 2 brings to life the harrowing events of April 13, 1919, at Jallianwala Bagh. This historical drama promises to be a compelling and emotionally charged experience.
