The Unnao rape victim was hit by an overspeeding truck, and she is in a critical condition after the road accident. Days after her accident, which allegedly involves a conspiracy, the Samajwadi Party and All India Trinamool Congress MPs staged a protest over attack on Unnao rape victim in Delhi. Bollywood actress and politician Jaya Bachchan, who is also a part of the Samajwadi Party, was among those protesting against the serious issue.

The politicians along with Jaya Bachchan had gathered in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at the premises of the Parliament in order to protest for justice for the Unnao rape survivor. Pictures and videos from the protest surfaced on the Internet recently. However, the veteran actress received backlash after the pictures went viral.

In the pictures, Jaya Bachchan can be seen smiling and laughing along with other politicians during their protest. The internet army took no time to criticize the actress for her carefree behavior. She was slammed by Twitteratis and some even called their protests political propaganda.

The 71-year-old actress was trolled mercilessly as one user wrote on Twitter, “These smiling and laughing faces do not show any protest against crime, it is just their political propaganda.” Another tweet read “It is a sort of fanfare when Parliament is sitting. MPs can raise this issue there. If the govt. is not listening, bring no confidence. What purpose would be solved by standing next to d statue of MKC Gandhi?”

For the uninitiated, a 19-year-old girl had alleged that the BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar raped her. However, the rape survivor who was traveling with her family was hit by a speeding truck in Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, which left her and her lawyer Mahendra Singh critically injured. It also caused the death of two of her relatives.

The BJP MLA and 9 others were booked for murder on Monday while the CBI is looking into the case.
