Indira Krishnan, who played Rashmika Mandanna’s mother in Animal, is set to reunite with Ranbir Kapoor in Ramayana: Part 1. In this film, she will portray Kaushalya, the mother of Lord Ram. In a past interview, Indira shared that Ranbir Kapoor personally recommended her for the role in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film.
Indira said, “I did Animal with Ranbir Kapoor. After that, he recommended me for Ramayana. He is a very grounded person and never shows any starry attitude on the set. From spot boys to his co-stars, he behaves politely with everyone. I have learnt one thing from Ranbir: Give respect, take respect."
Sharing her experience and the influence Ranbir had on her, the actress mentioned, “I have worked in television for many years. I have witnessed many actors showing their arrogant nature on the set. I have suffered a lot. I have seen heroes and heroines coming late on the show while I would sit and wait for them. Ranbir Kapoor respects his work a lot. I learned from him that if you respect your work, people will respect you."
The recently released teaser for Ramayana: Part 1 has captivated fans. Ramayana boasts a stellar cast alongside Ranbir, Sai, and Yash. Sunny Deol will portray Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Laxman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari.
Ramayana is planned as a two-part film, with the first part scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release and the second part for Diwali 2027. The initial instalment is expected to conclude with the Sita Haran episode, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Namit Malhotra unveiled the first look of 'Ramayana' on Instagram Thursday, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi. "Ten years of Aspiration. Relentless Conviction to bring the Greatest Epic of all time to the World. An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world’s best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of Reverence and Respect. Welcome to the Beginning. Let’s Celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama v/s Ravana. Our Truth. Our History.”
