Sanjana Sanghi marked five years of Dil Bechara by revisiting behind-the-scenes memories from the film that marked her lead debut alongside Sushant Singh Rajput. The film, which premiered digitally in 2020 during the pandemic, continues to be remembered both for its emotional core and for being Sushant’s final release.
To commemorate the occasion, Sanjana shared a video montage on Instagram, featuring moments from the sets of Dil Bechara. Alongside the clip, she reflected on the impact the film has had on her life and career. “Dil Bechara, it’s the journey that changed my life,” she wrote, adding that she still struggles to fully express what the film means to her.
She went on to thank director Mukesh Chhabra for believing in her, and paid tribute to her late co-star, calling Sushant “the best actor in the world” and someone who is deeply missed every single day. “Five years to a dream that I could never even dare to dream being realised,” she wrote. “Five years to Dil Bechara and your endless love for it that will keep it alive forever.”

During a fan interaction, Sanjana responded to a question about her most memorable moment from the film. She mentioned the emotionally charged monologue scene Kizie delivers to Manny, which she found “nerve-wracking” due to the length and intensity of the scene, shot during a night schedule. Still, she called it a significant learning moment.
Sanjana also reiterated how playing Kizie Basu made her fall in love with the process of acting. “Kizie Basu will be my forever favourite,” she said, adding that the role made her want to create many more such characters in the future.
Following Dil Bechara, Sanjana has appeared in films like Rashtra Kavach Om, Dhak Dhak, and Kadak Singh.
