Actress Sneha Jain, who was seen in the show Janam Janam Ka Saath Hai on Dangal, is now part of a new show titled Megha Barse. The actress says that her character in the show is unique and very different from what she has essayed before.
“I'll be playing a negative lead in Megha Barsenge. The uniqueness of this character is what makes it special. Actually, I had received offers for negative leads before, but I kept saying no because the characters were quite normal or didn't excite me. I was looking for something that would excite me, challenge me, and help me grow as an actor. When this role came to me, I had a discussion with the creative team, the channel, and everyone involved. The brief I received and the conversations we had made me really like this character,” she says.
She adds, “I am not like her in real life. Secondly, they wanted someone who looks innocent but isn't actually negative in the typical sense. She is not just a negative character; she is passionate, driven, and determined to achieve her dreams at any cost. Due to some reasons (which I can't reveal yet), she undergoes a complete 360-degree transformation. Now, she is on a mission to prove herself and show the world who she really is.”
Talking about how she came on board, she says, “One of the reasons I chose this role is that the look is amazing and very different. I don’t think I’ve seen such a character on TV before, and I have never played a role like this in my life. The look, the personality—everything is unique. I have always done a role who is an innocent cry baby, yet extremely determined character. This is a challenge for me, and I want to prove to the audience that as an actor, I can take on difficult roles and do justice to them. I'm a very soft spoken person, who thinks about everyone else and puts everyone else above me. But this character, she is selfish. She will go to all extent to do what she needs.”

She is playing a negative lead for the first time. Talking about the same, she says, “I have always played a positive character, but the best thing about playing a negative role is that it gives you a vast range to explore as an artist. I want to grow and experiment with my craft. I don’t want to limit myself to playing only one type of emotional, positive role. I am an artist, and I am open to experimenting if it contributes to my growth. For me, it’s not about playing a positive or negative lead—it’s about the challenge and uniqueness of the character.”
