"I make films only for theaters", says RRR director SS Rajamouli

Bahubali director SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR- Roudram Ranam Rudhiram’ is one of the most anticipated films for the year 2022. 

Fans have been waiting to know more details about the film since the film’s first poster was released. 

Today after announcing the collaboration of SS Rajamouli's RRR with PVR which will now be referred to as ‘PVRRR’ the media personnels were given a surprise, as they witnessed a special teaser of India’s biggest action-drama RRR.

During the press conference of the movie when asked about how difficult or easy was it to decide the film's release in theaters and not on ott the filmmaker said,

"It was very easy as I make films only for theaters. I make films for audiences to come together , watch together .The idea in my mind is a large number of audience sitting in a large closed space and experiencing the emotions that I show on screen. So it was very easy for me".

To which Chairman and Managing Director, PVR Ltd, Ajay bijli added,

"Before the pandemic the journey of any content has always been theatrical and then it goes to other platforms. So the theatrical sets a qualitative and quantitative benchmark for any movie.And it's a active experience so ur going out of your comfort zone to cinema and then watching a movie and when Rajamouli sir makes a movie like this he appreciates the fact that people are getting outside their home so it's never either theater or ott they have always co existed its has to be something that has been made for the big screen."

Agreeing to the same the RRR director said,

"I remember in the 90s when Star Network came to India everyone was saying this is the end of cinemas because so many films will be run on television but no, it had its own audience . The tv industry exits it does very well, the theater business exits as well ofcourse every medium has its own challenges but all of them can co exits".

As the movie has been postponed multiple times, RRR makers are apparently planning to have a grand release as it is slated for release on the 7th of January 2022.

Furthermore, PEN Studios has bagged the theatrical distribution rights across North India and has also bought worldwide electronic rights for all languages. 

Pen Marudhar will be distributing the film in the North Indian Territory.

SS Rajamouli’s directorial RRR will have an ensemble of stars like Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody will also be a part of the movie.
