Hera Pheri 3: Will Paresh Rawal's exit lead to film being shelved? Priyadarshan says, 'I don't give a f**k'

Hera Pheri 3 is one project that fans of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal have been waiting since years to happen. The happiness was unprecedented when the movie finally went on the floors. Just three days back, we heard that Paresh Rawal has backed out of the project. Today, Priyadarshan in an interview to Bollywood Hungama said that he did not need such drama in his life. He said he is more than satisfied with his journey as a filmmaker. And he is financially well-off. Priyadarshan said there was no need for him to actually make movies any more.

What the f**k is wrong with these people? Why is Paresh, whom I’ve always considered an integral part of my film family, behaving in such a manner? I don’t need this. I don’t need to make any films at all.

The filmmaker said he was never keen to return to the franchise or put in efforts to make more Hera Pheri films. He said it was Akshay Kumar who persuaded him. They recently shot together for Ekta Kapoor’s Bhooth Bangla. Priyadarshan said that Akshay Kumar had paid a huge amount for the rights of Hera Pheri. Priyadarshan said that he told him that Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty are happily on board for Hera Pheri 3 and if he could join them too.

The celebrated filmmaker said he was rejuvenating in his village with his family. He said such stress was unbearable at this point in life. He told the media house, “I don’t care for the stress of filmmaking anymore. I would be happy to retire right now. I’ve done enough work. I no longer feel excited about filmmaking.”

It seems Paresh Rawal decided to exit the film without giving anyone a valid reason. He had liked Priyadarshan’s concept as well. The director said he did not seem a bit unhappy when they shot for Hera Pheri 3. He said, “I don’t know where this is coming from. I feel the whole thing is one big conspiracy.” Paresh Rawal said he did not exit the project due to disagreements with Priyadarshan on X. He said he had respect for him as a filmmaker. The director has said that he messaged him to find out the reason.

“He replied saying I shouldn’t try to call him because he didn’t want to talk about it, and that he does not want to disrespect me. Is this how you show respect?”

He said he is very hurt as he has worked extensively with Paresh Rawal throughout his career in Hindi movies. He created a role for the actor in his every film. Mohanlal and Paresh Rawal are the two actors with whom he did maximum movies.

“I’m not surprised. It’s his money. He paid a huge amount for the Hera Pheri rights. Now suddenly one of the core actors decides to opt out. It’s Akshay’s problem, not mine. He has all my support. But the financial losses are his. By the way, everyone — including Paresh — has been paid an advance.”

There are some fans who believe that Hera Pheri 3 should be shelved if Paresh Rawal indeed opts out. Priyadarshan angrily ranted to Bollywood Hungama, “I don’t give a f**k. I don’t care whether it’s made or not. I was doing it for Akshay. I really don’t want to work anymore.”

He said he just wrapped up Bhooth Bangla with Akshay Kumar and has a film with Saif Ali and Akshay Kumar coming up. He is not keen to direct more films. He said he would prefer to live a stress-free life with his grandchild than work with unprofessional actors.
