Govinda's twitter account deactivated amid controversial tweet

Bollywood actor Govinda found himself embroiled in a social media storm after a tweet from his unverified Twitter handle sparked controversy. The tweet, which criticized the violence in Haryana and made a plea for peace, was soon deleted, but screenshots of it had already gone viral on various social media platforms.

In response to the uproar, Govinda took to Instagram to clarify that he did not make the said comment and revealed that his Twitter account had been hacked. He expressed his intention to file a complaint with the cyber-crime department to investigate the matter. In a video shared on his Instagram, he stated, "Please do not attribute this Haryana tweet to me as I have not done this. Somebody has hacked my account. I am just doing a complaint to the cyber-crime now. I'll look into the matter."

Furthermore, Govinda emphasized that his Twitter account had been inactive for years, and his team denied any involvement in posting the controversial tweet without his consent. He assured his well-wishers, friends, and fans in Haryana that he never engages in such matters and does not discuss political affiliations.

The actor speculated that with the upcoming election season, some individuals might have attempted to attribute political motives to him, leading to the hacking incident. He reiterated his stance of never engaging in such discussions or making inflammatory statements.

The controversy comes in the wake of communal violence that erupted in Haryana after a mob confronted a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession in Nuh. The situation turned volatile as stones were pelted, and vehicles were set on fire.
