Excel Entertainment's Gold has taken a headstart this Independence Day and is all set to emerge as Akshay Kumar's highest opening day ever.

The early response to the film has been phenomenal, with Gold witnessing a strong run in major mass centres.

The film is being touted by far as the highest for an Akshay Kumar starrer surpassing films like Housefull 3, Rustom and Toilet Ek Prem Katha.

Gold shared its release date with Satyamev Jayate, however, the Akshay Kumar starrer is leading ahead of the John Abraham starrer.
