Farhan Akhtar wants to make it right for WOMEN wronged by Sajid Khan

The #MeToo movement struck like fire in our country when Tanushree Dutta came forth with the allegations on Nana Patekar. Her story and a few others kick started the movement and it was raining cats and dogs. Names of influential people started coming in with multiple horrific stories of sexual  harassment. 

Kailash Kher, Anu Malik, Alok Nath, Subhash Kapoor,Subhash Ghai, Vikas Bahl and Sajid Khan, all of them made headlines and for all the wrong reasons. There were many women who shared their dreadful plight and blamed Sajid Khan for it. At that time, Farhan Akhtar being a cousin of Sajid, came forward and said,"I cannot adequately stress how shocked, disappointed and heartbroken I am to read the stories about Sajid's behaviour. I don't know how but he will have to find a way to atone for his alleged actions."

Yesterday at an event, Farhan talked about the same to PTI and said,"If I did know I would've spoken about it way before the story broke. There was this certain guilt about that. How could this be going on and I had no idea? So there were conflicted emotions. It was surprise, disappointment and strangely, because when it's a member of your family, you also feel a certain level of guilt. It's happened to all of us in the past when we hear something like this and say 'but how come someone so close to him didn't know"

As a responsible brother Farhan feels that he needs to find a way to make things right for the women who were wronged by Sajid. He said,"So pretty much on the first day when three women came out and spoke, I felt it was important for me to speak out. Sajid, being my brother, I need to now work with him, try to figure out how he can see this thing through and how it is that he can make the women who have been affected by his actions, somehow feel better."
