The country has been witnessing numerous protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). The disturbing violence and brutality faced by students at Jamia Milia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University has been alarming and the startling pictures, videos have been surfacing online which has created havoc amongst people of the nation.

In the realm of the CAA Protests, several actors from Bollywood have come up and expressed support to the students and also tweeted condemning the Act. Besides, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Anurag Kashyap, actor, and director Farhan Akhtar has joined the protests put up a tweet on his official Twitter handle, urging people to gather for the protests in Mumbai.

"Here’s what you need to know about why these protests are important. See you on the 19th at August Kranti Maidan, Mumbai. The time to protest on social media alone is over,” Farhan tweeted on Wednesday.

However, Farhan’s tweet seems to not have gone down well with senior IPS officer, Sandeep Mittal, who replied to the actor’s tweet saying that he has broken the law.  "You also need to know that you ' ve committed an Offence u/s 121 of Indian Penal Code & it is not unintentional. @MumbaiPolice & @NIA_India are you listening. Please think of the Nation that is giving you everything in your Life. Understand the Law(https://youtu.be/7F20KrW6RLU) (sic)" Mittal tweeted.

Besides IPS officer Sandeep Mittal, many Twiterattis pointed out to Farhan that the graphic he had shared had an inaccurate map of India. Soon, the actor took notice of the same and issued an apology.

“I recently posted a message about a protest meeting on December 19th with a repost of a graphic about the meeting. While I stand by the text, I have only just noticed that the map of India on the graphic is inaccurate. Every inch and part of Kashmir is a part of India and I reject the inaccurate map. I regret not noticing this earlier. My sincerest apologies for the oversight,” Farhan Akhtar wrote on Twitter.
