The Allahabad High Court has turned down YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav’s request to cancel the chargesheets and court summons issued in the controversial snake venom case. The court stated that the matter needs to be thoroughly examined in trial, given the presence of multiple FIRs and the seriousness of the allegations.
Justice Saurabh Srivastava, who heard the plea, clarified that Yadav’s petition only challenged the chargesheets and summons, not the FIRs themselves. The court maintained that such documents are a part of the overall investigative process and cannot be dismissed at this stage.
Elvish Yadav has repeatedly denied any link to the use of snake venom at a rave party allegedly held in Noida. His lawyer told the court that the charges are unfounded and that Yadav was not even present at the venue. The defense also argued that the complaint filed under the Wildlife Protection Act lacks solid basis and fails to prove any direct involvement of Yadav.
The prosecution, however, stands firm on its claim that snake venom was recovered from the party site. The case, according to them, involves serious wildlife crime and must proceed to trial. Authorities also allege that Elvish encouraged partygoers, including some foreign nationals, to consume banned substances.
The incident came to light when an FIR was lodged against Elvish, alleging that he hosted the event where snake venom and other illegal items were found. General Manish Goyal accused Elvish of being the main organiser of the party and playing an active role in promoting substance abuse.
Elvish was arrested by Noida Police under sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and Indian Penal Code Section 120B (criminal conspiracy). He was later released on bail after furnishing a bond of ?50,000.
With the court rejecting his plea, the case is now set to proceed to trial, where both sides will present their evidence and arguments. Elvish Yadav is currently appearing as a participant on Colors TV's cooking-based reality show Laughter Chefs – Unlimited Entertainment 2. The show combines culinary challenges with comedic elements and is hosted by Bharti Singh. It features celebrities like Aly Goni, Karan Kundrra, Abhishek Kumar, Nia Sharma, and Krushna Abhishek.
