Aviation authorities are investigating the recent Air India crash, which has deeply affected the nation. On June 12, Flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (VT-ANB), crashed shortly after departing from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Tragically, 241 of the 242 people on board perished, with only one survivor. The country is in mourning, and condolences are being expressed widely.
Many Bollywood and television personalities, including Rahul Vaidya, Aly Goni, and Nakuul Mehta, have shared their sorrow over the event.
The Ishqbaaz actor posted a pilot's note on Instagram, offering support to aviators and writing,“Unable to wrap my head around the magnitude of this grief for the families and friends of those who lost their lives. AI171."
The note reads, Aviation is a world of precision, training and systems. When things go wrong, we don’t need assumptions we need patience, facts and respect for the gravity of the loss. To my fellow aviators, I know you feel this too. The knot in your gut, the silence while going through the checklists, the moment you look up and the sky doesn’t look right. I ask the public for compassion. For silence sometimes. Always strive for empathy. Let us mourn, let the investigators work, and keep the skies sacred. Fly high up, those we have lost. You’re not forgotten. A pilot in mourning.

In a video posted online, Rahul Vaidya was seen talking to the paparazzi, sharing his deep sadness over the tragic news.
“Kal ke liye bohot bura lag raha hai abhi bhi (I still feel very bad about what happened yesterday)," he said. Rahul added that while he wanted to interact with the media, he was struggling to speak due to the emotional impact the incident had left on him.
Main chahta hoon bohot saari baatein karoon but andar se ho nahi paa raha (I want to talk about a lot of things but I just can’t bring myself to right now), he said.
He went on to speak on how personal the tragedy felt especially for those who travel frequently. Kal jo humare desh ke saath haadsa hua hai, jo tragedy hui hai, woh hum mein se koi bhi ho sakta tha. Hum itna travel karte hain toh bohot zyada kharab lag raha hai (What happened to our country yesterday, the tragedy, it could have happened to any of us. We travel so much and this feels terrible), he added.

It’s a tragic day for so many families. And all our thoughts and prayers are with them. I just wanted to add my support for the crew. I’ve flown Air India all my life. It is not an airline without problems but without fail, I know them to be the best crew in the sky, Vir wrote.
He added, Time will tell what happened on this tragic flight. I cannot imagine how hard it is for them to do their job right now having lost their own. For the crew, just to say one stands with you. And hopes to see you soon on a flight.
