'Bahut bura laga tha': Abhishek Kumar recalls losing a film due to commitments with Khatron Ke Khiladi

Abhishek Kumar, who gained massive popularity after his stint on Bigg Boss, recently shared a personal career moment that left him heartbroken. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, the actor revealed that he lost out on a Bollywood film because of a schedule clash with Khatron Ke Khiladi.

After coming out of Bigg Boss, Abhishek was all set to begin a new chapter in his career. “Main kisi ko nahi bataya. Bigg Boss se nikalte hi maine ek film sign karli thi, workshop bhi ho gayi thi, mera cheque amount bhi aa gaya tha, mera script bhi aa gayi thi, mere pass acting teacher bhi ate the muje sikhane. Mai zyada nahi bataunga. Acha production, acchi casting thi. Sab accha tha,” he said.

He didn’t reveal the name of the project but hinted that it had everything going for it—a good team, proper preparation, and a solid start. However, fate had other plans.

Abhishek explained that the shooting location for the film faced issues with date availability. The revised schedule unfortunately overlapped with his shoot for Khatron Ke Khiladi. “Jaha humara shoot tha vaha ki dates mil nahi rahi toh vaha ki dates aage badh gayi. Aur voh dates meri Khatron ka sath clash ho gayi. Khatron mai chhod nahi sakti tha,” he shared.

“Yeh, ek project jiske liye muje bura laga tha. But fir maine aisa socha ki koi agar mere baare mein itna bhi sochta hai ki 'Isse Bollywood cast kar sakte hai' voh bhi mere liye bohot badi baat hai,” Abhishek added, revealing he was left heartbroken, however, reflecting on how he chose to look at the positive side of the situation.

Despite the setback, Abhishek’s optimistic attitude shines through. He may have missed one opportunity, but being considered for a film role so early in his post-Bigg Boss career is a big win in itself—and a sign that even bigger things may be coming his way.
