Director Sanoj Mishra who offered film to Maha Kumbh Girl Monalisa Arrested For Rape, Blackmailing

Monalisa, a 16-year-old bead seller from Madhya Pradesh became an internet sensation due to her captivating photo, taken during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj.

Director Sanoj Mishra, who recently made headlines for offering a film to internet sensation Monalisa from the Maha Kumbh Mela, has now been arrested in Delhi on serious rape charges. Reports state that a young woman from a small town has accused him of exploiting her under the guise of making her a film star.

The victim revealed that she first connected with Mishra back in 2020 through TikTok and Instagram while living in Jhansi. They developed a frequent communication, and on June 17, 2021, he allegedly called her from Jhansi railway station, threatening to take his own life if she didn’t meet him. Out of fear, she agreed to see him the next day, where he reportedly took her to a resort, gave her intoxicants, and assaulted her.

He allegedly recorded obscene videos and threatened to leak them if she resisted. The victim claims that Mishra continued to exploit her, making false promises of marriage and film roles to manipulate her.

Earlier, the director Sanoj Mishra has accused five people, including a YouTube channel owner, of attempting to defame him and stop his film starring Monalisa Bhosle. He filed an FIR at the Amboli police station in suburban Mumbai.

For context, Sanoj Mishra had recently confirmed casting Monalisa in his upcoming project, "The Diary of Manipur," and had even started giving her acting lessons after her viral moment at the Maha Kumbh Mela. Mishra has directed several films over the years, but these allegations have now overshadowed his recent endeavors.
